Hi
I stumbled across this place a few days ago after re-installing Company of Heroes, remebering why I uninstalled it I got nostalgic for Close Combat, my favourite ever RTS.
Anyway, this forum has inspired me to re-install CC5, I think my favourite was CC2 but Im not sure if i can install easily on XP whereas CC5 went straight in.
I will get used to the game again and then I will try a few of the mods, in the meantime I have lost the CC5 manual is it downloadable anywhere?
Anyway its good to see a reasonably active community for such a fine old game i thought had died years ago.

First mods to try should be GJS and Utah (IMO). See the "Help" link right below the site banner... click on that and follow the links to CC5 mod install guides. The guides were made before the days of Vista/7, if you encounter any problems, come on back here and I will help you through it all.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
