Howdy all!
I was wondering where I could find a good, comprehensive beginners guide to the campaign mode for LSA. A little history on myself: I played the original CC back in the Windows 95 era and had a good handle on the game engine. I held the Allied Forces at Normandy for days and crushed the Germans in record time, and as a teenager, that's a pretty good accomplishment.
This time however, I'm having a really hard time keeping any of my troops alive through even one battle and my old "tactics" are not working.
Does anyone know of a good primer or guide that I could take a look at?

Hi Bcolecon,
Welcome to the site! My advice is to not run fast your troops as much, and babysit them, reeeeealllyyyy babysit them. Unfortunetly there is published guide. There a ton of forum posts listing tactics though... you'd have to get a pick and shovel to dig those up though.
You can read my Boot Camp articles for general tips. Most of the tips can be applied to most versions of Close Combat.

Are you insinuating if you hadnt been a teenager, you could have obtained a greater accomplishment?! Oh wait, back on topic...
Glancing through my bookmarks, you might be interested in this unit tips thread not exactly a game guide but probably some usefull tactical anyway. I know i read some other good threads but i dont have them bookmarked
If you have any unsolved questions after that thread, im sure you could post them here and someone couldnt resist answering them

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
