Hi,

I just returned to CC4 after finding it in a spare room clear out.
Having fond memories of it I reinstalled it.
After a little buggering about I got it running fine on my current pc.

In fact, I got so enthusiastic I searched out a copy of CC Invasion Normandy on Amazon & bought it.
I just installed that today & am having a ball with that too.

Now, I have a couple of questions about both of these titles, because both seem to suffer from the same issues.

Firstly, whilst the sound effects for both are great, there is a glaring omission.
Whilst you can hear birds twittering & dogs barking along with the sounds of screams & gunfire, we have silent vehicles & tanks?

Are there any submods for vehicle noise for CC4 & CC5 ?

Secondly, during the deployment phase, is there any way of rotating the vehicles & guns?
It is very frustrating to have them destroyed whilst they are rotating to face the enemy having just hit the 'Begin' button.
Once again that question applies to both CC4 & CC5.

Many thanks for any helpful input.

Balla. Smile

There have been numerous sound mods for CC5 and perhaps CC4. Just check the downloads area, in submods for miscellaneous files, etc.

Regarding facing, you can use a defend order, that will cause a vehicles turret or gun to face in the direction of your choosing. Outside of that, why the turret rotates, or the vehicle, is a matter of mystery.

If you use a Move Fast order for a vehicle, it will (most of the time), turn (or rotate), in the direction of the indicated order, right away.

During deployment, (if desireable), try to locate your vehicles where the enemy cannot get a clear shot on them right after the game begins. This can be more or less difficult, depending upon the map.

Righto.

Thanks for the info.

Are there any sound mods that cover vehicle noise that you know of?

Welcome to the site!

I do not think theres any sound mods that add sound to moving vehicles.

You are having trouble getting your forces to face the correct way during deployment. If I understand you correctly, just give those units a defend command and rotate the blue shield around until its facing the direction you want. You can also give them an ambush command.

Thanks for the reply.

It just struck me as a bit of an oddity that you got quite detailed sounds but stealth vehicles.

What could be louder than a tank!  Confused
Engine, squeaks rattles & clatter of tracks.

Thanks for the facing tips.

Useful stuff!

Supposedly Atomic did have engine sounds at one time during testing but after a while the constant sound got people mad....

Maybe it was a sound level issue.

I would have thought it would have been viable.

Ah, well.

Just have to live with stealth tanks I suppose.  Confused
