even with the latest patch it still looks like the german needs to be played on green or recruit NOT line.
if you dont, the germans still dont get access to some of the squads / vehicles that were availible historically. on line they show up as "0"in the roster.
the juries still out on the amount of points availible to the german with the new patch.

Good question, jury may still be out for most people, but IMO, the balance is off in the GC, and until it is modded or adjusted, Germans should be given 1 level advantage (given 2 equal players), to give them more points/forces to counterattack in the south, though a 2 level advantage makes the German forces too strong in the North making it near impossible for Frost's battalion to take the north end of the Arnhem bridge. Allies should not be given above line, they already have plenty strong force pools, but more importantly each level gives them more time to take the bridges.

good info from LT 2nd. But IMHO i would start on recruit for the germans and play a GC and see. it will still be playable even if as LT says the germans might be too strong in the north.
in my experience the germans just dont have enough points or equipment availible to them in LSA. and IMHO there missing units and troops that were historically in the GC.
i need to play a couple more GC's to say for sure which level is best at this point, so go for it and let us know.

We started out our campaign with green german and line allied. About 15 matches in so far. Most static BGs are overrun, some holding their ground. SS giving beating. Will report back later.

19th is starting next turn. Big mortars were giving so much grief to both sides so we decided to house rule them, max 1 big mortar and 1 small, or 2 small mortars. Working out fine so far.
Only few static BG's remain near nijmegen. I decided not to blow up most bridges in favor of getting more kills and whittling down the allied BG's, that propably was a mistake, we'll see how it turns out.
Allies at Arnhem have been pushed back, expecting another attack soon but I dont see how they will break through the SS line.
Graebner and fuestenberg are holding Nijmegen bridge and Beek, battles are ongoing in nearby areas.
Panthers decided it would be better to head to Nijmegen bridge and hold the line there. Ran into some firefly's on my way there and had to take a detour. It turned into a race after that. If they dont make it, abandon all hope?

sounds interesting SVR keep us updated !!
interesting too about the 80 mm mortors. so far id say the majority of what few players i can find playing LSA would agree with you on the mortor situation.

A fellow and I have begun playing a GC with the new MEGA patch.
Axis: Green : Opponent
Allies: Veteran : Myself
100% Realism
15 mins
Force Morale OFF
VL Taken
2 Min Warning
I will report on our progress. But so far it seems to be working fine. I'm a little confused as to how its to easy for the Allies to win. Even multiple battles against the AI, most of the bridges get blown well before I'm anywhere close to them. But of course I play on Hero against the AI. Regardless, a minimum effort should prevent the allies from securing just about any bridge they need. Therefore making it a pain in the neck for the allies to get anything done since those tanks are awfully hard to push, and those blasted Germans just won't kill themselves!
