Cross of Iron has many bugs (which were not in the original) that makes a meaningful game is not possible.
List of what I found so far:
1) Often gun placed in the building or on the crest of the hill (in the defense or ambush), after the battle begins to move. In this case, it can not shoot and unmasks. Sometimes even gets stuck...
Verified - in the original CCIII guns do not move at the beginning of the battle without orders.
2) Guns can not be placed in some shelters for unknown reasons. Example - the map Moscow2 - it is impossible to place a cannon (45mm for example) in two pillboxes located on the edges of the map.
Verified - in the original as possible.
3) 88mm anti-aircraft gun (not damaged and with full crew) in some battles refuses to turn (as if it had been immobilized) and therefore can not hit the target (maybe other guns too).
4) Line of sight on the tank standing on a flat snow field has a dark green part, for unknown reasons.
5) If the line of sight has a dark green part - after the shot targeting removed ... Have direct again and again until the target is destroyed. This naturally complicates the management of other divisions.
6) If the infantry come under fire (machine gun or sniper) ordered the move is canceled, the infantry begins to crawl back. This prevents quick run through open areas and forced to give the same order again and again.
7) Prisoners can not be returned by surrounding them with their units. They still continue to move toward the enemy.
8 ) more and more...

Someone has to explain the T-26 armor to me. I understand the sloping and everything else, but really? That seems absurd! (I am, of course, referring to the link provided by Nikin.
Just an explanation would work, I mean I really love COI!

The developers of RealRed is unlikely to respond - it long ago.
But now I look at data vehicles in mod DOF2. It is based also taken mod RealRed, but the data is edited (as opposed to pure COI). For example - now T-26 hull armour front low, hull armour front med, hull armour front high: 16, 15, 15.
Questions about the data is all the same. A little later I'll ask them. Conclusion - you can use the mod DOF2, instead of pure COI.

I wish Ron Gretz would respond. Real Red was my first mod and is one of my all-time favorites.
Does anyone know if a patch for Windows 7 is out yet for Cross of Iron? I can't get CCIII working at all and CoI kept crashing.

My vote is to remove this "Feature" I would love to hear the explanation of the game designer who came up with this idea.
I don't have any choice but to cope with the game countermanding all my orders, yes I have to order them forward with 25 orders to move 20 ft in an assault. The soldiers who are still alive at the end of the assault must be a little confused. I know I am.
Did any of the testers attempt to play CoI before it was released and debate this add on? Did Future come up with this crap? Let me guess, it was added to make the AI better but screwed up H2H as a side effect.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
