hey all,
been playing singleplayer CC LSA for the past week or so, the ai (opfor and own alike) seems to be rather dull - that's me being polite by the way..
i am wondering which cc version or mod the community thinks is the most challanging, fun and engaging solely from singpleplayer point of view?
mind you, i am not interested fighting against hoards of opfor or fending off superior equipment so that they hide the underlying shortcomings, but rather looking for the better tactician if you get what i mean.

Although CC2 certainly was and still is challenging in single player, I voted CC5 due to the Battle of Berlin vetmod. Insane vetmod as German, , close to no units, close to no ammo, close to no supply. The russian AI has it all, including artillery every 10th second and Air support fleets, not single aircraft's.
A very challenging game. CloseCombat5 has posted an entire campaign playing Salhexes mod.
I'm not completely sure though that it is the full 3.5 vetmod being depicted in these cool videos, cause the Germans seems too powerful. The install of the mod is not simplified so data can be corrupted quite easily. Made that mistake my self, believing for a while I played the vetmod 3.5, until I found those files I had forgot to install in the data folder.
Regardless, Vetmod 3.5, is essentially like this:
Almost no units - some battle groups starts out with less than 20 units in the force pool.
almost no ammo - so scavenging is a basic part of the fighting tactics employed.
Almost no supply - so no moving around with tanks, in the few BGs having these.

You might like CC5- Stalingrad Der Kessell and Operation Circle. But you will have alot of Russians coming after you... just like the real thing. Fun for singleplayer IMO.
