Do the soldiers get promoted in campaign/operations mode against the computer? I know that in CC2, the officers got promoted from 2nd Lt to 1st Lt to Captain to Major if they survived long enough and kicked a lot of ass, but in CC5, I've never witnessed a promotion. One of my snipers has a medal of honor and 2 distinguished service crosses......and no promotion. One of my 2nd Lts has 2 distinguished service crosses and 3 silver stars.....and no promotion. Hmmmmm.

i noticed in the soldier screens where the morale bars are.
there is a leadership ranking which can rise.
but i have never watched for actual rank promotion over a campaign.
Forget words, actions will show your true ambitions! The Battlefield,In many cases, the terrain of a battlefield can be the best resource a commander has. A clump of trees, an abandoned house, or a drainage ditch can all be powerful tools in the right hands
No - in CC5 there is no such thing as having a soldier promoted. This means that you will want to pay attention when you initially pick your teams. Go to the soldiers screen and check out the rank of the leader of the team - if It’s not good enough go back to the selection screen remove the team from your active rooster and select it again - check rank - continue until satisfied.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
