Here you can download the briefing of a Custom H/H Grand campaign for LSA.

No moding, but a lot of work and testing to finaly try to have a more balanced and more historicaly accurate campaign/ some home rules are proposed to have a more realistic and more balanced game.

CLOSE COMBAT LAST STAND ARNHEM v5.60.53b A PROPOSITION OF CUSTOM GRAND CAMPAIGN HUMAN/HUMAN

Sorry for my basic english.

This custom campaign (without moding) try to be more balanced than the original lsa grand campaign and try to be more historically
accurate for timing, fact and missions... not really for the names of Battlegroups. The respect of this briefing is essential to
enjoy the game.

Germans: Recruit
Allies: Green
15- 20 - 30 minutes battles
force moral off
two minutes warning

Germans Briefing:

DEFEND THE REICH:

-Eindhoven area: prevent the 101st AB to take and hold Best, Son, st-Oedenrode and Veghel bridges and try
to maximum delay the 30th corps then try to cut-off allied supply line.

-Nijmegen area: prevent the 82nd AB to take and hold Grave and Ravenstein bridges, the four bridges over
the Maas-Waal canal and Nijmegen bridges then try to stop or maximum delay the 30th corps.

-Arnhem area: prevent the 1st AB to take and hold the Arnhem road and rail bridges. Build your forces,
then annihilate the British paratroopers and prevent the 30th corps to cross the Rhine and Waal rivers.

but KEEP THE WAY OPEN FOR THE "FUTURE COUNTER OFFENSIVE":

-Germans cannot blown the Arnhem road bridge and Nijmegen bridges.

Allies briefing:

101st AB/

OPEN THE ROAD TO THE 30th CORPS:

- Must take and hold Son, St-Oedenrode and Veghel bridges and try to take and hold Best bridge
 until the 30th corps reach.

- Protect supply line from german counter attack.

82nd AB/

PROTECT THE FLANK OF THE CORRIDOR:

-Must hold the Groesbeek heights (north and south) and Grafwegen until the 30th corps reach.
Tactical retreat is authorized if there is no other way.

OPEN THE ROAD TO THE 30th CORPS:

-Must take and hold Grave and Heumen bridges until the 30th corps reach.

-Must try to take and hold Nijmegen bridges until the 30th corps reach.

1st AB/

OPEN THE ROAD TO THE 30th CORPS:

-Must take and hold the Arnhem road bridge and try to take and hold the Arnhem rail bridge until
the 30th corps reach.

PROTECT THE SECOND LIFT:

-The 1st Airldg Bde must hold Renkum heath until the second lift 18th september 15h00.

30th CORPS/

OPEN THE ROAD TO THE HEART OF THE REICH:

-Must reach the Arnhem road bridge as quickly as possible.

HOME RULES:

Germans/

-No movement and no support for the first turn. (strategic surprise)

-Cannot blown the Arnhem road bridge and Nijmegen bridges.
(order from general Model to keep the way open for the "future counter-offensive" and simulate action of
the dutch resistance who sabotage the blown system of Nijmegen road bridge)

Both sides/

- Victory location rule (no deployment inside a zone without VL).

- Cannot attack neutral maps: HELMOND, DE GEELDERS, OSS, WYLER and DRIEL before planed reinforcements on those
maps comes (except Eindhoven considered as a free town).

- Cannot put 6pdr/57mm ATgun and 50mm Pak38 inside building with ONE or MORE floors.
(If you think like me that tracting a 1 ton and 5 meters ATgun in the stairs of a dutch house is next to impossible
but that is more easy to demolish a wall on the ground floor and fit the gun inside)

- One medium AND one light mortar maximum (except 2inch mortars with bren section 1st AB).

(If you think like me that mortars are too powerful in LSA, its a way to limit this mistake and it will give a chance for ATguns to do their job)

- Minimum range for medium mortars(8cm, 81mm and 3inch): 300m

- Minimum range for US 60mm light mortar: 100m

- No minimum range for other light mortars (5cm, 2inch)

HELP: TANKS REINFORCEMENT INSIDE BATTLE GROUPS (no reinforcement without full(++) supply line)

Germans/ -QG KNAUST: -19 september 09h00: 3 PzIV, 2 PzIII, 1 MarderIII
                    -20 september 00h00: 1 TigerI
                    -21 september 15h00: 1 TigerI, 2 Panther

      -QG RIENHOLD: -20 september 09h00: 3 PzIV

Allies/ -501st PIR/101st AB DIV: -18 september 09h00: 8 Sherman, 4 Firefly, 4 Stuart

       -506th PIR/101st AB DIV: -18 september 06h00: 18 Cromwell, 2 Cromwell CS, 4 Stuart

        -505th PIR/82nd AB DIV: -19 september 06h00: 4 sherman, 2 firefly, 2 stuart
         508th PIR/82nd AB DIV

Last minute modification: removed one 30th corps BG and exchange an other. Less tanks for allies because Germans are very poor against tanks and American paratroopers have some tanks reinforcement inside their BG.

interesting...some good house rules that i play with my opponents.....1 mortor per BG and germans on recruit.

1 thing...LSA is made to be played with the morale ON. if you dont, then if you get yourself in a situation where your BG is destroyed on a map then it will NOT retreat, because the morale is OFF and it will disband instead and never come back.this is bad for both sides but particularly the allies as the german 107 PZ Brigade is very strong and can destroy the 30 corps armoured divisions easily. thus if the allies lose a few whole armoured BG's they will for sure lose the GC.

IMHO Morale needs to be ON.
