Didn't know what to say to that comment at first....

Having thought about it, there are similarities with the Germans attacking in some what bad weather and then the US forces counter attacking. A lot of the same units as the time frame between these two battles was not that far apart.... Now the important question though, is this version of Battle of the Bulge better than the WAR?

+ better graphics (explosions and maps for sure)
+ max. # of teams in a battle increased
+ soldier history of action not lost when they go back into the force pool
+ interdiction air or artillery attacks
+ carrying men and towing guns

- less maps than WAR
- no bridge blowing like LSA
- multiple BG's can not attack the same map from different directions like LSA
- removed direct IP connections

Yes its better! Smile But i have found strange things..maybe i am tooo fond of details ;)

Renamed Teamfiles (i like when the SS aso units has their right names) and then i have found this..

I feels like that the SS armoured BG:s doesent use the SS armour from the teamfile?? only looked at two so far and i could be wrong..has anyone else seen this?

Hi, I haven't  bought LSA or PitF yet (did buy TLD), but am curious about the way BG's can move and share units:

1.In LSA BG's on the same map could share units between the two BG's, or did two BG's turn into one?
1a.Are BG's in PitF able to share units between each?

2.In LSA a BG could pass through a map occupied by a friendly BG ... is that true?
2a.If true ... is this possible in PitF?

3.In LSA more than one friendly BG could occupy a map?
3a.If true ... is this possible in PitF?
3b.If "3." is true ... what determined which (of the two) BG's would fight an enemy BG attacking the map?

To some extent in LSA (there are limitations) and now it's different in PitF, presence of BG influences selection of groups of units.

Yes, if you control applicable exit/entry VLs in LSA.  Haven't tested for PitF.

Yes. Yes. You can set which BG is resting or the order of the BG as it appears on stratmap tile (on top or below).  But in PitF I believe only one BG can actually be involved in the battle.

Someone else please correct or add as required...

In LSA you can have an infantry BG as your frontline unit and select a tank from the reserve BG (if you have the points as LSA uses points like CC2). You also can attack a map from 2 directions/maps thus the forces deployed from each BG are limited to their entry VL with the reserve BG allowed less team spots.

Static BG's (ones you can not move which defend important spots) in LSA are combined without a choice when a mobile BG comes onto the same map (that is a pet peeve I have ). Mobile/regular BG's can be combined if the player wants to (a bigger forcepool allows for more team/vehicle spots to be available for teams to increase the number used in battle but then you have less BG's to hold maps).

I don't think the 2nd BG in PiTF affects unit selection for battle.  At most it might allow for more units to be available/used but I haven't confirmed that.

Found it..seems that the game Reads the name from the vehicles file instead of GeTeams file..never seen that one before

Now i know why there is vehicles of same type with and without SS cammo in the same BG..shame on you Matrix..

What I remember reading is that it was generally up to the individual tank commanders as to what color scheme they wished to paint their vehicles. There was no standard directive as to how it what to be done, only that the colors were standard issue to be mixed with any water that may be available. Also, some Panzer units may or may not have the time to do it.

At one point the German armor was issued as many as a dozen shades of green to mimic the different seasonal changes of foliage. Yellow was mostly destined for Africa. But some vehicles painted in basic sand-yellow ended up in Russia. I heard that "pink" worked well in desert scenarios. (could be a contemporary bit of trivia)
