For all you CC5 sound modders out there - what tools do you use? Where can you find them?

Is there some sort of tutorial available?

Thanks,
Mac

i asked penguin to do a sound tutorial, and possible data base of cc sounds.
but i guess he is also busy doing many other things as well.
i know how to do them but am no sound engineer.
basic tools i use for replacing sounds r cc3 hack
for extracting sounds i use sfx pack.
and i use 2 other sound programmes for volume adjustments
and cutting and pasting sounds together
thou each programme can do both i feel 1 is better than the other at each task.
if u d/l cc3 hack and sfxpack
ill give u a talk thru on how to do it,and u will be changing sounds in 10 minutes
also if u dont have cc3 installed on ur pc make this directory
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Close Combat III\LocalFX
it is ok if just empty folders,cc3 hack needs this set up to work

Most of the problems with making and modding sounds is to get the sounds without "stealing" from all other mods..........

well we r trying to make a data base of the current sounds.
for any cc user from 1 to 5.
so the player can listen to the weapon sounds of their choices.
not the mod makers choice.
but u r more than welcome to make a tutorial for how to make new sounds from scratch some people might give it a try.
but then they may submit the sound to the data base.

p.s i found this on cso/bob forum
Open the sound file of Battle of Berlin, there is the Mg42 sound from Brothers in Arms....

Hi Mats

do u wake up in a bad mood everyday?

no need to not post in these forums.
i only copied and pasted so u realised what u were saying.
just somehow when i read ur posts, most come across looking as ur always looking for a negative point.
weather telling some1 to not bother to d/l ur mod.
or making out u wont post here again.
or u wont make any more mods
can u see where im going?
ur opinion is as appreciated as the next persons even in disagreement.
u obviously have some talent and time for cc.
try and shift the percentage of ur posts into positive ones, that encourage and give people drive.

What i mean is this; if i buy BF 1942, Call of Duty,Brothers in Arms etc for really a amount of money, and figure out how to use the sounds in CC it really means that it is free for all to use it without asking about it....

I really think that all people playing the mods should think again about all of the work thats behind and it is all for free, except the internet cost to download it....if that means being in bad mod i agree.

as far as i know legally...im not a lawyer

but just becoz u purchase a game, does not entitle u to do what u like with it.

i.e using its sounds in another game..but hey maybe u approached the developers and got their permission to do so.and at the same time they said it would be ok for u to post in the forum for other cc users who hadnt purchased the game.(u were more pissed that they hadnt d/l BOB mod in the post)

then what about the other CC users that had purchased them games?are they entitled to use it?

do u even understand it is illegal to modify CC?let alone put up a modified version of the game for d/l?

but u obviously understand this, and just make it as something which applies to other people and not urself.

and if some1 wanted to use that sound, they need ur permission?im asking this question as im not sure how u meant ur first paragraph.

and in ur 2nd paragraph u sound like ur still not appreciated enough for ur effort with BOB.
u only need to read thru ur own forums to see otherwise.

p.s ur mg42 sound from whateva game it is from, is available for free download anyway, from a site that allows downloading of its sounds for non profit.and a royalty fee is wanted if ur going to make money out of it.

Damn, do you feel the love in the room? I shiver with it's intensity.

Anyhow, can someone throw up a quick How-to? Perhaps just an example of how to switch out a sound? That would be super.

Thx guys
