You mean what those weapons really are?
MG-120r is a captured DP-27 lmg
MP-717r is a captured PPSh-41 smg
Gewehr 252r is a captured Mosin M91/30 rifle
These are all soviet weapons which the germans cptured quite a bunch of.
The "r" means russisch, the weapon is of russian/soviet design.

I got it, They just renamed and slightly modified some weapons they captured.
The Germans also did it to the Czech ZB-53, Vz-26 to German MG-37t and MG-26t and so did the British as the BESA machine gun (I didn't know that) as you can see in CC: Cross of Iron

Yeah for example "t" is for tschechisch... I used to think it meant "tons", because of pz35 t tank, that it was a 35 t tank, but that was long time ago...

The germans put anything they got their hands on into service. Especially second-rate and garrison troops were equiped with captured and mostly older/inferior material.
The SS were foced to rely somewhat on captured stocks in the early stages on they war as the Wehrmacht ranked the SS pretty low on their priority list on equiping units with enough modern weapons.

there was no DP-28, there was DP-27. Not sure where this mistake comes from.

Ops, typo.
Thanks for pointing it out
|
that's not your typo but a mistake reproduced in most of the Western sources.

Yes, all english sources I've seen on the net state the name as DP-28. Wikipedia only says "The original DP is more commonly called the DP-28 (or DP-27), although there is some confusion as to whether these are official designations or not."

In LSA found Dutch SS using French and Soviet weapons
MG 116 (f) = French FM 24/29 MG
3.7 IG 152 (f) = French 37 modèle 1916 TRP (small neat looking cannon)
Pak36 (r) = Soviet 76 mm divisional gun M1936 converted
MG 257(f) = French Hotchkiss Mle1914 MG

The sound for the Ppsh-41 is obnoxious. Sounds like a cabinet full of crockery falling over! They could have gotten much more realistic sounds for the Russian (non-German) weapons.
