The focus of course is on the anniversary at the moment.... But I have a what if scenario

Stalin had been asking for the second front to open months in advance & Eisenhower quite rightly waited till he was ready

But what if the Allies delayed opening the 2nd front...

Would the Soviet juggernaut continued on & taken the low countries & France.

& if so were the Allied western camp capable of taking it back.

When you think about it Ike had to make his move or be caught short.

Sort of strange that they ended up in Berlin at the same time...

I think there would be less of a axis force in France but who knows.

When allies landed in Normandy, Russian forces was near Warsaw, but they waited for until January 45' to take that capital. If not for the Stalin's politics  Russians would be in Berlin before end of 44'.
