Today, by chance, I found out where the COI music was taken from: it's Bruckner's Symphony No. 9 in D Minor: II. Scherzo - Bewegt, lebhaft (what's in a name). Found it on Deezer.com. Enjoy
Thanks for posting the link vobnobb.
I have to say that I find this CC3 / COI music so fitting for the game. It just sets the mood of an Eastern front game very well. I have also believed that the music was from a Russian composer.

Hello:
Excellent!
About the name, "Symphony No. 9 in D Minor" is the name of the complete work, and the COI theme is part of the Scherzo, that's the 2nd movement or section from this symphony (commonly is the 3rd); "Bewegt, lebhaft" are German tempo markings used to indicate the speed or pace of a given piece, meaninig "lively (mood)" and "animated, with motion" respectively.

The timpani can be heard in that Bruckner's Symphony CC3 piece. The timpani (big drum) instrument was used a lot in old German music.
