To be honest - Once I am in a battle I don't really "see" the finer details of a maps graphics - I mean if something is not wildly out of scale or place - I wont normally notice it. Bad coding on the other hand is a totally different matter.
Anyways I made a map from freely available aerial imagery. I assembled several screenshots from an online source, scaled it to approximate CC scale, turned it so the shadows would correspond to the CC sun direction of top left. I then drew some quick interiors and cloned out most of the trees their shadows. - A quick job so it definately could be better, but hey read the first sentence again;) - I then coded it and tested it in CCMT. I really dont think this looks bad, but what do you guys think about this style of maps ?
I think it could look better in-game with GtC/Pitf scaled trees that seems to be more realisticly scaled.

Thank you Kanov, but I am sorry, I have no time for making a big map right now.
I have described my procedure in my post. There really isnt any more to it. - But please ask specific questions - and I will be happy to answer them.
Aerial images of good quality I found on https://kart.finn.no/
For ww2 you could use parts of the imagery and mix with standard textures or you could use the clone tool in Photoshop.
