I knew some of them also. Some of them are just so unbelievable. I had forgotten that Erich Hartmann survived the war. I remember that after one of his missions in Africa he came back with a number of kills and they had trouble believing him as he used as few as six rounds per plane to take them down because of his tactic of firing at so close a range.
