Playing CC since 2004 and the best part of CC is definitely the mods and the dedication of modders...
I enjoy CC most when I play different mods... !! (GJS and Stalingrad Mods being my favorite)
I realized there is a decent amount of know-how in forums about how to mod CC, however it is distributed all over the site. If there was a task force, which would sum all the knowledge and experience of modders throughout the years to bring in a well structured E-book, it would be really helpful for novice modders, who have passion but do not know where to start...
I think its a good idea, but it is a massive undertaking. Would have to be divided up into chapters on Data, Graphics, Map making, Sound, .dll/.exe editing. - Maybe more categories?
Maybe start out small with the most common questions a new modder may have? Like simple data edits like changing the weapons and team numbers and such.

There are 2 basic skills you need for modding:
-Know how to use excel or libreoffice calc on a basic level (data)
-Know Photoshop or Gimp on a basic level if you want do edit graphics
A list of which tool you need to edit what CC file is also a big help.
The rest you learn on the fly, you are bound to run into things that are not written down.
Try to figure it out yourself at first, retrace your steps to find the problem and if you still haven't found it ask for help in the forums or discord.
With those basic skills, little bit of dedication and some spare time, anybody can make a mod.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
