Hi All:
I am new to the forums here. I have purchased and played every one of the CC games... my copy of CC5 had been collecting dust on the shelf for many years now. I had gotten sick and tired of the campaigns / maps the game had shipped with. You can only play them so many times
The other day I stumbled across this site, and to my delight there is this huge thriving community! I downloaded the GJS4.4 mod, and am currently playing CC5 again. I am hooked again! There's nothing quite like the sound of a .50 Cal supressing an enemy position...
Anyways, I am just curious what these "vetmods" are all about. I have read, and searched the forums, and I beleive they make the AI more challenging somehow. Not sure exactly how... better units to the AI or something? So... is there a vetmod for the GJS4.4 mod?
Again, its great to see there is still a great fan base for the CC games. (and sorry for the noob questions).
well i dont know if there is a vetmod for gjs 4.4.
Vetmods usually make AI no smarter but stronger, more men per squad, more tanks, more support... sometimes the Ai is more agressive (though i cant really tell the difference)
Since you are new here, check the little red button on top of this site leading to gamespy... Play there! AI wont challenge you for very long even if different mods revive your CC5 pleasure... Play online, human vs. human is far better and funnier...

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
