ye paras usually can hold there own if they have supply and are not up against armour.
Forget words, actions will show your true ambitions! The Battlefield,In many cases, the terrain of a battlefield can be the best resource a commander has. A clump of trees, an abandoned house, or a drainage ditch can all be powerful tools in the right hands

I have a suggestion for you!
Try the Battle of Berlin, in the vet. mod, use the artillary support, and roll your infantry across the map to find what was left over!
If they still persist, use the IL-2 Shturmovik air strike. And even though if anything survive to that, advance with your armour through the ruins and finish the job.
Piece of cake!
as jackson is implying, there's no fighting SS without tanks in gjs44. allies need to coordinate every attack with armour to gain any advantage, i doubt even AB can hold for too long.
Are there any assault infantry? if there is use the flamethrower guy to mow them over or use light tanks they are better for heavy infantry. if neither work use arty, naval, air strikes to keep them down. if they still keep coming use motars to supress them then have infantry finish them. if all else fails, your on your own
Try to find the week point in the ennemys defence, for that just send some Ssnipers or some Recons Team, they are hard to see and they are great to find ennemys. Once you found the week point see if there's no Tank covering from long range (if yes just airstrike it), and then pass frew and size the Exists objetcives. With no Amo and no Fuel it's nearly easy to kill SS.
So any BG that have snipers, Rcons Team and an Arstike should do.
The SS are always going to be tough no matter what you do and you should expect that, they are the germans elite troops after all and they have better gear and morale than any of your troops. Only para come close but then they aren't nearly as well equipped. That said, I have held caen with para indefinately against a good opponent with one of the SS mech BGs (the ones with Jags). You just need to know your equipment, basically smgs are king in urban areas, the bad news is the SS has tonns of that. Flame is great too of course. Generally when I'm fighting the SS I concentrate on counter-attacks, not directly attacking them unless there is some terrain or other advantage allowing me to do so. And always with close armour support and armour superiority. You have to beat not only their AT guns and shreks (which are again elite!) but their armour as well! Wait for them to expose themselves, thump them and counter. :
And always attack with 2 to 1 minimum (usually I go for at least 3-1) infantry odds unless you've got a tank to mince up their infantry. Leave the rest of your units guarding open areas where you can mow down the SS on their approach. And of course airstrikes and what not... a well placed air strike will mow down SS troops as easy as osties.
But really there is no one answer, armour coordination is essential but the SS has great anti-armour component and depending on the BG great armour as well. I've seen an SS jag take out 3 shermans in a 3 (shermans) on 1 (jag) slug fest. And the jag, while immo with only 2 crew left, lived on to fight the next day... I never send shermans against Jag or especially SS jag front on. Piats seem to do quite well against SS jags, if you can get the position with all that elite infantry running about.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
