There was a working no-cd for the not-updated game. but none for the 3.0b version.
looking at the example I managed to make a no-cd for close combat 3.0b
it is available for quite a while now, at my website at the bootom of the downloads section.

Hello Gerwin. I would LOVE to play cc3 again, but I don't know what to do to RUN the download you kindly offer. What should i do to make it run please?.
download Cc3nocd.zip from the website,
extract its contents, being: Cc3nocd.exe
run Cc3nocd.exe
you get a dialog with three buttons: crack, restore, exit
press the crack button
you get a file selection dialog,
locate your orginal cc3.exe (v3.0b) in the game folder.
(I can't tell where it is located on your PC, if in trouble do a file search.)
once clicked on the cc3.exe a message appears: crack succesful!
exit the dialogs.
Now Run Close Combat 3 as you would normally do, without the CD,
(though the plugin manager still requires the CD)
(If it does not work you might need to add a folder called VIDEOS to your cc3 folder)
please let me know how far you get with this, if it goes wrong then write down where and what goes wrong.
I can`t start the game.
I get a message that the game can`t find the Videos folder.
When i created a folder named Videos it can`t fin a file named MSlogo.avi or something

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
