Hey people that's what CC5 players tell is the main problem of CC3: no strat map. The huge map is the whole front! You play from 1941 to 1945 you command your own unit as you go through diffrent stages of war. You get some req. points at the begining of each battle and you buy, upgrade, and manage your troops. Then you play a battle. Depending on your outcome you get more points sometimes a barrage that will start on the next battle. Here you need to look after your troops: your men are saved for the next battle. In MMCC3 you have supply depots: if you are sorrounded you will get very little or no points when you defend or break the encirclement. It's Massive multiplayer because over 20 players can play the grand camp. at the same time. It's like a whole new dimension of CC3! CC3 is great because of a sea of units and unit upgrades that it offers. You understand the point now?
The MMCC3 app is quite old but with a 24h running server I am not afraid to say that CC3 is the best of the CC series!

P.S: the MMCC3 is very mod friendly and CC3 is capable of having hundreds of maps so it has a very bright future.

Thanks, Argon, for the reply. So how does one get going on this?

Where can you pick up the mod?
Is it a plugin?
What are the details of getting it up and running?
How does the multiplayer (up to 20?) work?

Thx!
Mac

How MMCC3 works:
1) Map and units are being saved. So every time you start MMCC3 your previous units will be restored.
2) in single player version run Server.exe first! For multiplayer version you need to be connected to internet.
3) Run the MMCC3.exe - select player name and side if you have not done it before.
4) First you need to connect to the server. Type in the TCP address and port number. Press Connect button.
5) Click on any sector. You will notice map name appear at the bottom.
6) Most maps are picked at random. Campaign maker can set positions of any maps and decide which ones are used.
7) Select "front line" sector controlled by opponent. (Notice "Attack/Defend sector" button will become enabled).
Cool Press "Attack/defend" button. Wait for other player to play with you or just press "Play AI"
9) Now start CC3. If you are playing against AI play MMCC3Op saved game. If you are playing against human go to multiplayer, start hosting game then select MMCC3Op saved games and wait for opponent to connect.
10) Play it until you or opponent lose control of a map. PLAY JUST ONE MAP. DON'T play other maps! As soon as you or opponent looses control of the map exit finish the game. This is very important! You may play multiple days/games on the same map
11) Now switch back to MMCC3 app. Press OK on the message box.
12) MMCC3 will extract your and AI units and save them. Map will be updated. You may loose or gain control of the sector.
13) Now do step 7.

This info came from the creator's (Killmore) site:

http://home.san.rr.com/apiotrow/MMCC3/

You can also download the multiplayer MMCC3 1.01 file from his site.

Here is a link to an old "how to play" guide I created many years ago.

Hi again!
Mac, it's a application that you put in your CC3 folder. The MMCC3 works by plugins: You uninstall the old MMCC3 plugin (all the files are saved) and you install let's say Luer's Panzerjager mod and the Multiplayer plugin for op mars and next time you start MMCC3 you will have the Op Mars strat map.
You can download all files on CSO. And I told you that OVER 20 players can play at the same time. One more thing: each battle played pushes the clock forward in the camp. for an amount of time set by the server. That way there are no turns and the game runs smoothly.

P.S. With MMCC3 clan wars are going to become wars for sure! Just imagine one clan against another in one veeery bloody conflict Twisted Evil !
Hope this helps.
Arg0n.

Just in case somebody doesn't know.
The stars that are circled, are Russian troops that are encircled and recieve hardly any points. The flags are supply points and who they belong to. The outer marks are the frontlines and the color dashes are areas controlled by each side.

We just finished the first campaign and are getting ready to start a new one soon if anyone is interested. http://www.closecombat.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=104
