During the period of Aug 11th to Aug 15th closecombatseries.net suffered from a domain name expiration which resulted in the site going offline. This happened because our host, CIHost.com transferred all ownership of domain accounts to Register.com. I (MOOXE) was never informed of this transfer. The transfer effectively cancelled the auto renewal that was setup. Register.com as it turns out, does not work late into the evening, or weekends. My hands were tied untill Monday morning. In order to get my account setup with Register.com, they required a list of documents. These documents were faxed on Monday morning. Late Monday night I was informed the documents provided were not sufficient. Steam was starting to build in my head. Tuesday morning, after a quick visit with the lawyer to get forms notarized the paperwork went back in. Sometime on Aug 15th CCS came alive again.

I couldnt help but feel, that during all the downtime, the domain name was being held hostage by some alien company I never agreed to be with. You can imagine how frustrating this was while trying to deal with a company that works basically the same hours I do. Coordinating the release of the hostage was an incredible feat by itself. On behalf of everyone who administrates and pays for CCS I offer our apologies for the downtime. Particularly to those people who host websites and images with us.

**Update** I have placed a call to Chuck Norris. Chuck has agreed to deliver roundhouse kicks to each employee of CIHost.com and Register.com for this total failure in customer support and relations.

Sounds like a nightmare Mooxe. I think proper expectations is the key here. If they would have atleast notified you via email to tell you of the change and what it means to you (in advance)...i think you may have felt differently.

I'm glad to come back CCS.

When CCS site went out, I was very shocked. I thought that CC community
became smaller and it is the current of the time. So I abandoned an got this things....

But !! CCS come back.

Thanks again for keeping Pzt posted during the outtage.

Mooxe, knowing that we have many AAR images hosted on CCS went out of his way to reassure us that CCS would be back shortly. Very considerate of him, and we appreciate it.

CCS is awesome. The best CC community site.

oh my god i thought of all the other sites i relied on, i looked everywhere for GJS installation guides(ccs not cso) and for my forum post of how to do port forwarding (ccs only) and lord4wars download section(ccs) ....oh the pain of no CCS, dont let it happen again!!!!!

we must have backup sites and mirror sites!

i really didnt expect it to be even here today!
