I have downloaded, plugged in and played this excellent mod. However, when I try to uninstall this particular plugin, CfgV13 throws up an error "Failed to copy System\Packages\CC5ABTF311DBR105\Map300txt.org to C:\program Files\SSI\Close Combat Invasion Normandy\Maps\maps300.txt because System\Packages\CC5ABTF311DRB105\Map300txt.org does not exist"

With my limited knowledge of the inner workings of Cfgv13, I appear to have no option but to zap CfgV13 and reinstall it to get rid of this dependent but obdurate plug-in.

Any suggestions, anyone?

Well... As you see it doesn't exist, so you have to make it exist.

Thabks - that's considerably more constructive than the earlier reply from Searry. And what's with Sargeant? There's no such rank.

well was fine at first but now all the bridge too far maps are on the battles, opperations and campains menus (although it does not load them it loads normal cc5 battles) but even so it seems fine if i just ignore them.

If it works, don't fix it. Happy Market Garden!

I hope you guys have your games running again. The problems you had are probably due to the plugin not being fully extracted to the configuration managers \System\Packages\<whatever mod> folder. This happens not frequently, but often enough to cause problems.

The .org file extention used in the plugin is for "original", meaning that it is a copy of the original file from the stock and patched game. If the file didn't get extracted into the mod's Packages folder, then the unistall wouldn't be able to find it.

The easiest solution is to uninstall and then reinstall, but that is not the only way to recover a failed install or uninstall. I'll not go into the long and technical explanation of the other way again here. The smartest thing to do is go to the plugin folders and manually extract the files with WinZip, WinAce or WinRAR to the Packages folders. This will ensure that all the files are there for trouble free installs and uninstalls.

You will need to change the file extention of the plugin from .pln (plugin) to .zip and then use WinZip or one of the others. Once you have a same file count between the plugin and the package folder, you are good to go.

If you want to save space on you hard drive, copy the mod plugins that are fully extracted to the packages on to a CD or DVD disc as a backup. Then you can delete the plugins as they have served their total useful function and are no longer needed. The configuration managers work from the \System\Packages folders for installs and uninstalls.

I hope this helps. Ask away if you have any more questions.

C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas la guerre.

Bless you - I'll never say anything rude about a drill sergeant ever again. I loved you all: honestly.
