Hi, my friend and I were playing cc5 on a lan and he had a few crashes part way through battles on the same map - normally with an explosion I think, one was definitely due to my airstrike. The crashes were just your standard cc5.exe has performed a bla and bla, do you want to send the info to microsoft bla. I've read that directx problems can cause crashes in cc5, but from reading in the forums it seems that I would expect a different error message than this standard one. Otherwise, my game is running as normal and not in win98 compat mode. Anyone who is familiar with crashing, could you give some advice. Thanks.

airstrike crash aint nothin nobody can do anything about, its a freak.

with mods, i hate swapping, new install for each mod i love, and change names(close combat invasion normandy)

for h2h, truce when u have 10 seconds left to stop exe timer crash.

turn off moral, sometimes crashes.

dont mix stalingrad GC up with GJS, may import an error.

i'd personally reinstall a game froms scratch if i got anything 'weird',even airstrike, ive had it once while hosting EVER. i think my opponent had a graphics problem.

Thanks. I;ve had pretty good luck with 00 and moral failure crashes, none yet. Airstrikes have been a probelm now and then though. Now that you mention it, I will reinstall both versions as one had lots of mods trialled oin it and maybe a mod hadn't cleaned itself up properly and there might have been a rouge file etc. I also just noticed that one of the 2 computers was on win98 compat mode, the other wasn't and that was the one crashing. I'll change both to 98 mode.

if you still run any CC with Xp window compability on u cannot play some will simply not launch like CC1 and CC2 other will run with fatal error appear like CC3 and CC4/5 will run or normaly for a moment and than crash or runing slowly with mouse speed problm etc .... anyways to use CC u can use XP compability under Window98 or W95 ... it will avoid most of problm ... unfortunatly some other problm cannot be deleted like the frozing end crash at 00:00 or the airstrike crash or the moral failur crash ....

Thanks. I noticed that cc3 wouldn't start unless 98 compat mode was on. Well we played some games yesterday, in one we both used an airstrike almost simultaneoulsy and it was fine. Here's hoping.

from my experience,plane strike crashes are caused by your opponent running modified airstrikes.
00.00 freezes and morale failure crashs are modded into the game.

I would not say so. I have recently started having problems with airstrike crash on Bayeux map in h2h gjs gc. Noticed this happened after downloading and installing BO. When leaving cc with BO i kept getting "CC.exe error" info. And somehow in the same time airstrike error occured. Tried uninstalling whole cc and installing once more, still this airstrike error occurs. Is it happening all the time or it may be a matter of the certain map?

Good advice. When I play over LAN some times the game would crash just as it ended. I will turn off moral seting and see how it goes.
