yukongold,

One possible problem or source of confusion is that the plugin within the zip is named the same as the previous version available for download (CC4_WinterWar1.2b.pln).

I truly enjoy Yukongold bringing this mod back to life with a better plugin.
Looks like this tired old mod still has some issues though.
The few battles I have ever played have been good (playing as Finns)

I'll start a GC and see what happens but I dont know the actuall campaign so all I could report would be bugs (if anymore arise)

It would be great to see the 1st only true mod ever made for CCIV live on.
(sorry TT no disrespect/if your out there?)

Can you be more clear Mooxe?
Should I re-download the pln and try again?

When I extracted the .mmm,.ovm & the bgm all 3 images are the same for the Merkki map.
But ingame they are not the same.
I also couldnt get StratEdit to view the .exe without getting an error.
Looking at the index.mpi the map i'm having problems with is #32 Frrrs

I got the new .pln and there are still issues.
I suggest removing the download until it's right.

I suggest stop using the .pln as being the one to install the whole package with maps.
Or am I the only one having problems?

Hi guys.............just got back from "down south." I found my errors in the BTD files................here is a new set. You can just unzip them into your Config manager System/Packages/WinterWar 1.21b folder. I've uploaded a set to the server and asked Mooxe if he could update the plugin as well.

While I was checking the files over I found that two of the map detail images that appear when you click on a stratmap segments are reversed (Vilaniemi and Maisala). I've double checked the revised Index.mpi and think this was an error in the original mod. Easy enough to fix in the SCRNGADG STRMAPDETAIL. I certainly wouldn't mind doing it but would like a second set of eyes to check it first.

Cheers

Rats!!! I thought that was the last of the errors.........not sure if anyone else had toubles with the Raater1 (Kolkkala) map. I had to fire up my chainsaw and hack down about 500 trees to be able to play it.............there were way too many trees. Rolling Eyes Here are the new txt and los files for Raater1

Some teams eg, Russian Engineers, Rifle teams, and ten man ski give a "can't reach target" error when given a move into a building order.

Are these coded as vehicles?

If so, does anyone know why?

To increase aggressiveness??

Winter War is designed to be played as Finns in standard form.

Does the Finn AI change this coding?

thanks
Schreck

You have totally misunderstood the map. Very Happy

It is supposed to have lots of trees. I coudn't even put enough trees on it. Sad

It's been a long time without CC...

I don't currently have my own copy of the mod (or the map). Now I am wondering where can I get it. Unfortunately I don't either have my copy of CC4 anywhere - just the CC2, CC3 and CC5.

Silmäauki, I loved all the trees you had put on the map......the forest were I live is quite similar. The problem was that the game engine was running out of memory and was crashing due to so many trees.

If you can find your copy of CCIV (or another one) I have all the original mod files on my hard drive, if you would like them, and have done one more updated version since this was posted. v 1.22

For other players interested in the story behind Silmäauki's RaateR1 map the old Winter War website is still active.

Yukongold,

Thanks for your offer (and for finding letter 'ä' Smile ).

I just can't find my copy, but I would still like to have the mod. What's the size of the mod?

Regards,
-SilmäAuki

SilmäAuki, when I rewrote the plugins for version 1.22 I included the maps as a separate plugin.

The files are approximately 86 Mbytes for the maps plugin, 31 Mbytes for the main mod plugin, and the FiAI and H2H plugins are just tiny......10 & 6 Kbytes.

cheers
