PostPosted: Mon Jan 15, 2007 9:10 pm Post subject: My Close combat 6 idea Reply with quote

Hello all
Ant here

Any way i think that awarded medals on Close combat are pretty much based on VLs taken and or kills.

I wish that if your soldier gets wounded in battle they all ways get the woundbadge or the patriotic war 2nd class etc puple heart etc

If any soilder suvives 3 attack maps they will automaticaly get the assault badge.

Now the cool part, I wish that if your playing you can nominate them for a medal.
Like i saw my small little german throwing a granade holding back a whole Russian rifle group and platoon leadrer. And i he brought me time to bring up more troops.
So i click my little german and click a button so hes then nominated. If its his 1st time ever
he will get the iron cross 2nd class. If i have clicled him before then the iron cross 1st class.
If again i see him doing some thing good then ill giv him the war order of the german cross.
And if i see him doing some thing so incredible i cant believe it.
like once i had a german sniper holding a house that had a good view on the road that russian troops were. He held it for about 4 days. Snipeing alot of men. But most of all he put his life in HUGE danger. Hideing from tanks. Running away from huge soviet pushes snipeing then runing back to the house and defendig it.
Sadly we were retreating back to berlin city. (it was a BOB mod) he was struck bye a mortor while running threw a field to get a good snipeing spot.
Any way i wish i could of nominated him for the knight cross. He put him self in such danger and he deserved it. I want to be able to nominate men my self
What do you all think. Sorry if this idea has been said.
every country will dish there medels out in there owen kinda way you know.

Thx
-Antony

Yes it will be cool but

How to be sure than soldier awared did really something during a fight?
By this way u can award any selected soldier, whatever he did as waiting on back front just to still alive and to receve a medal ... Medal that, if u dont know, always grow up the soldier status like experience, power, command etc..... i 'm not sure if it will be so good to give to the player the ability to awarding who he want

Tout est possible ... il faut juste connaitre quand.

I believe the way it is right now is OK, but you could also nominate one soldier that did something valerous to you but the game engine didn't take into account. In this case there would be a % chance that said soldier did get a medal. Only on BG's that did see action during the current turn to avoid the situation that Zappi commented.

And as Anthony_nz said, it would be great if soldiers got some sort of recognition to see how many battles they have fought, like on CC3 your soldiers got a badge for every operation they survived.

CC6 will be a new game Karl, new engine and all.

The ones that exist today (CC1,CC2,CC3,CC4,CC5,CCMarines,CCRAFRegiment,CCRtB,CC:Cross Of Iron) are based on the same basic engine, well maybe CC1 and CC2 are different but all of the rest are pretty similar.

It cant be 3D. No way ask any one no way.

I dont no how realistic the sprites will be? How many frames they will move per Second but if its going to be very realistic. It will be neat to see your little man haveing a smoke if hes not doing any thing. And will throw it away if he is needed to move or take cover. ect.

In cc5 there appers to be less actions than cc2.
When i was playing CC2 demo i saw stuff like. On watch? breaking, broken,
cowering fleeing, Bad shot, aimig, reloading, I think evan gun jamed,

I think there were alot more said like that in CC2 than 5. I hope theres going to be more info in what your men are doing.

OH and most of ALL!
In cc2 i saw the muzzle flashes with smoke comeing out. We need that back NOW!
It looked really awesome and gave a more combat battle feel.

I don't mean different and rotatable views and like that ,I mean (As I mentioned) graphical enhancements ,like better models with more details and more beautiful explosions ,destructible enviroments and as you said smoking soldiers and etc ,but with the current view. Is that bad?

why not 3d? i havent played "Company of Heroes" but they are making Strategy games in 3d like crazy now.... i am pretty sure they can make 2d look extremely good... so good that it didnt matter that it wasnt 3d.
anywayz any game can be made in 3d. but the way this game was made 2d is cool.
however dont critize a 3d version of this game. It could look good in 3d and have exact same gameplay.

I believe the future is 3d games. 2d is getting old and a 3d rendering would work fine.
Even Civilization 4 is 3d.

I partially agree with others who dont want a 3d game. I love this game more than anyother I have played. 3d or not.

All i want for the new game to be 2.5d, so that its easier to figure out the terrian with a slight tilt. maybe a 3 slight minor views. overhead, partial tilt and full tilt.

If they keep everything else the same with minor tweaks, this game will blow all other tactical game out of the water.

so when are gonna get news for such a game??

Not True. Check out Sullas post at Matrix.

CC6 will be created and indeed is being worked on right now, using the current existing engine with a raft of new stuff, far more than any previous version jump.

for the 2d or 3d problem, there should be an option of switching between either one.

What would H Jones do?
