My box was ordered from "Webhallen" in November and i think it is worth the delay....if people mess the set up files up well, i have seen this on many mods because why read a read me file when someone has spent time to make it....this is the new generation, strike first and take the consequences afterwards...and blame some others...
I wonder if this game is comaptible to play on line with the old CCIII
Tack is right that it is not compatable, but not so much as due to the new CC3.exe, but more from the same reason that players can't use different mods when playing H2H.
Cross of Iron's data and graphics are based on Real Red v1005's data, Dreaded88's vehicle graphics and kwp's Real Faust rarity settings, with a bit of tweeking on the data by Simtek, primarily to clean up some anomolies in the Element.txt from RR. In other words, it isn't the same data or graphics as CC3. A stock and patched CC3 player can't play H2H with another CC3 player with RR installed.
Now, if a CoI player uses the original stock data and graphics, he can play H2H with a CC3 player, and a CC3 player that uses CoI data and graphics can play H2H with a CoI player. Or any compatable mod combination.
The host player sets the CC3.exe that is used. A CC3 player with a CoI host will notice the AI tweeks. A CoI player with a CC3 player host will notice the lack of them.
Right now, the two editions are not compatible for H2H play other than both players using the same mod. There are several conversions of CC3 mods for CoI mods that have been done with more currently being tested out and those can be played against an original CC3 player. In a few more weeks alot more will be completed, including a CoI Stock and Patched CC3 mod, which will increase the number of players that can play H2H between those that use CoI and those that use CC3.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
