I'll give it a try and start an AAR. We are playing a gc with the SDK mod. The usual rules apply, no morale, 15mins, line/line and the deploy rule.

I'll mainly post images after the battle and some comments how the battle went.

-----------------------

First battle of the russion offensive to trap 6th Army in Stalingrad.

Could have had more progress but the good news is his only two mobile AT weapons are gone whereas only a T34 got immobilized. I expect mop up action in the afternoon as only a few ATG's are supposed to be left.

Intense fighting in Raspopinskaia. A russion recon unit went into a trap layed out in the NE bunker. Managed to kill 5 guns on the other hand, 2 of them deployed quite visible, I guess he was expecting Katjushas and ACs, but I only brought Infantry in the first assault. The other guns where hidden in the houses, couldn't hold the houses but I'm glad the guns are gone for good now. We'll see how many guns are left in the afternoon when the second wave attacks.

Due to a strange behaviour of the screeny tool I didnt get any shots of the next two battles because the key assignment didnt work. I should check that before playing next time...

Game crashed in Sirki twice, but last time the battle was stored. Got four guns and an italian AC. Moved into staging positions.

The battle in Kletskaia was a meeting engagement. First battle with some tanks for the axis, but no match for KV-1's and T34's. I kill 5 tanks and get 3 immob'ed in return. I'm able to get most of the VL's.

On we go with war in mother Russia. This time with screenies. Smile

In Osinskij the first russian BG withouth any Vees or tanks tries to advance into town. German Artillery and vees hit my storming troops badly but in the end I'm able to establish a solid foothold in the north and even some houses in the center. Lets see if that pesky mobile tank destroyer comes back in the afternoon after a direct hit from a mortar shell that killed all but the leader.

Tonights second fight was a river crossing from the Oil terminal into the town of Ostrovsji. The germans had good cover in their deployment zone but the russian divisional gun made short work of a gun on top of the western hill and a lucky mortar shot must have killed another gun in the town center, which I didn't notice until the end when my scouts advance into downtown. I'm very pleased with a major victory and hope to wipe the germans out in the afternoon.

PS: 12 inch mortar was scary... but luckily didnt hit much. Razz
