I am a little late this month to keep you updated about the development of SOC…. That does not mean, however, that the mod is sleeping: just the contrary!

After the initial period when I hardly worked on the data and graphics (some of them coming of course from SDK), I have spent more or less the two previous months on the
mod maps. I remember that, initially, I was expecting to paint only some new maps and use as much as possible the SDK ones…. In fact, the mod will likely have something like 25 or 30 totally new custom maps, the remaining being either SDK maps where the sector are common between the two mods, or slightly modified SDK, most of the time with added fortifications.

You will find attached a picture showing what will be the strategic map of the game (in fact, this is the tentative debrief screen which will be of course improved in the final version) in order for you to familiarize with the region.

The situation is currently as follows:

MAPS COMPLETED: 27:

a) Unmodified, taken from SDK
- Traktorniy Zavod
- Krasniy Oktiabr
- Beketovka
- Krasnaïa Plochad
- Pitomnik Airport
- Gumrak Airport
- Orlovka
- Alexeïevka

b) Taken from SDK, but with added fortifications and/or elements:

- Marinovka
- Karpovka
- Rakotino
- Zybenko
- Jelchi
- Jablonovaïa
- Talobaya
- Voroshilov

c) Totally new custom ones:

- Barrikady
- Northern Heights
- Pitomnik, the road to the Death
- Gumrak, Von Paulus HQ’s
- Tsaritsa Gulley
- Grain Silo
- Stalingradski
- Borodkin
- Tartar’s Wall
- Dimitrievka
- Voroponovo

In addition, I am currently coding Iljovinskaïa and Goroditsche, two totally new maps.

Cheers
Panzerjäger

Yes, why not?......if you can tell me what you want me to modify!

Anyway, keep in mind that that painting a city map is very long, difficult and time consuming, and that I have still something around 15 maps to make...

Cheers

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
