I tried to install the Battle of Berlin mod but the pln didn't install correctly- It gave me an error message and only converted the .exe, and nothing else. after that, I got "no list contains files, you need to reinstall close combat" message when i run the converted .exe. Then, when I took away the pln, regular cc5 ran as the mod but the only maps were those from original cc5 and the program crashed all the time. WHAT GIVES?!?! (yes, i installed the map pack.) Confused

a880, occasionally the config. manager will cause an error, even when the mod install.txt is written correctly. I had a quick look at the BoB v1.0 install text and the mod cc5.exe entry is the first one after the backup entires.

When the config. manager installs a mod, there are instructions written in the install routine that tell it to backup copies of the original game files first. These files are saved in your CCV Configuration Manager\System\Original folder.

You might get away with just copying the CC5.exe back into your game folder and restore the game to stock.

If everything is working good again you can delete the files in your CCV Configuration Manager\System\Original folder, and you will need to move the BoBv10 entry from Installed: to Uninstalled: in your Config. Manager\System\config.dat file and then save it.

This fools the config. manager into thinking the mod was never installed...........its not to bright.....although much better than the old days of manual installations.

If this doesn't work out, you might have to go with a fresh installation of CCV, and the 5.01a patch.

If you can post your BoB Install.txt file, I can compare it to the one I have. When you are ready to try installing the mod again, make a note of the error if the mod install fails a second time. I've spent a fair bit of time writing plugins and the error message tells you exactly where the routine failed..........good for trouble shooting. Not to worry, though, we'll get you going.

Smile

Smile Thanks a lot... off the top of my head, the error involved the copying of a folder (it was a folder that involved a location in france from original ccV - no idea why...

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
