I was thinking about making this mod myself (once I spent a year learning how and assembling a team).

If you haven't already done so may I reccomend getting some old ordinance survey maps from the library to help in your mapmaking. These were done to great detail around the time of the war and were made for just such an occasion as operation sealion.

That would be a really heavy idea: I think if the necessary information could be collated, there would be some excellent tactical possibilities!
