Good day gentlemen,
Want a few copies to keep one as RSR, the other as mod-swap. How do I install two copies, delete a registry entry somewhere?

For multiple copies of CC
Install CC
Install the patch
Now you have c:\Close Combat 5 Invasion Normandy
In Windows explorer
1. Drag a copy to a new location
It will be called C:\Copy of Close Combat 5 Invasion Normandy
2. Run config manager
3. Install RSR
4. Rename that C:\Close Combat 5 RSR
5. Rename C:\Copy of Close combat 5 Invasion Normandy to c:\Close combat 5 Invasion Normandy
Repeat steps 1 - 5 as Needed |

I also created a folder inside each install and named it aaaaSDK1.2 or whatever the mod is to keep track of the file.
In order to play the game h2h you must rename the main folder Close Combat Invasion Normandy so that the correct mod is seleced. So those that are not being player I name as follows:
"Mod Name" - Close Combat Invasion Normandy
See pic above.
Note - I created a seperate maps folder for each mod so that I didn't have a massive maps folder holding ALL maps for EVERY mod copied over to each install. |

Great to see a lot of people are installing multiple mods in their machines
Here's another thread about the procedure: http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=4104
One more thing, for single player games...you can use the CC Starter Utility to point to the different exe files...so no need to rename the folders to change playing between different mods.
As for patches, vetmods and updates to installed mods...when you've go separate folders for each mod...it's easier to copy the patch/vetmods/updates files manually...unless you want to keep track of multitude config manager setups for each mod. |

I once also had some 5 copies of CCV, but 2 things annoyed me.
1 the space it took.(at the time i had 40 gig, not 400)
2 forgetting what mod was on.
plugins r just easy! |

I remember when I first found this community I installed mountains of mods and had many copies. But thats annoying yea cause of space concerns. One thing though that bugs me is how apparently the Config Manager is unable to locate Close Combat installed to a partition that isn't 'C:'.
For practicality I only use C: drive as a location for my operating system and have 2 other large partition for data. I do this to make it so that if I need to wipe out windows I don't have to worry about losing my files, but this also means that C: isn't very big. I just find it annoying that I seem to need to install CC to C: just to get the plugins to work, even though I can copy them over to another partition anyway. It really is silly when I'd want to change mods or update them. It just isn't practical.
Have I missed something or does everyone else really use C: and only C: |
