Custom maps that require backing up of the originals, due to them being overwritten are not wanted. Maps that need
the configuration manager to install are also not wanted!
That's a bit of a tall order, Digs. Any way you slice it, at the very least you will need to edit or replace the index.mpi
With CCIII or CoI putting in custom maps is easy. For CCIV and CCV, due to the Strategic Map, there is a bit more involved. New maps can be added two ways: rename the new map files to match one of the existing ones, or edit the index.mpi to accomodate the new map name.
The map BTD, which tells the program where the map entry and exit locations, and the VLs are, needs to match the map size.........or be edited also. The process really isn't that painful, but does take some practice.
I really couldn't start to recommend any maps in particular.........there are so many good ones.
