While playing the meuse crossing campaign, I had a Flak 88 cannon fire at an H-39 light tank. the shell hits the tank directly, but does not do any damage to the tank. Is the H-39 armor super thick?

What would H Jones do?

No.

8.8cm L/56 can easily penetrate the H-39 tank most of the time regardless of the shell loaded and range;

Penetration data in Meuse at 500m; AP 149mm HE 55mm

But the range does affect accuracy and even at shorter ranges not every hit is an automatic straight on shot. Shells can deflect depending on the angle of the shell compared to the armour. In CC you can't see this but the game takes it into account along with a random factor....

Tejszd,
u should explain that CC has probability to penetrate/kill for any gun from 0 - infinity Smile.

Basically, if your target is to far away the shell can bounce right off the armor!.

Hi Meuse is very well done in terms of Shoot/kill.

Maybe you wanted to destroy a H39 at 600 meeters at the first shoot?

Cheers

Mmmm. To be honest, I did not play Meuse from quite a while (not because I do like it: I love it) because I was busy with the developemant of my own mods...

As far as I remember, everything was OK.

Meuse is really one of the best. The only "criticism" I could do is maybe a certain lack of "live combat" (sounds are not at the stop,in,
my opinion).

But Gameplay is at the best.

Give me that H39 please!!! I desperately need any tank in my Meuse GC as my CharB1 bis are being KO not only by 88mm but also by Stug, PzIV and PzIII; left and right. Right now, I have less than 10 tanks left for all the French forces combined and I have at least 8 strategy moves left!!! Very Happy

In Meuse, only CharB1-bis has good front armor(60mm), CharB1 and H39 are alright (40mm) but the rest (R series, AMR, AMC etc) are not that strong.

To be fair, there is a probability to be hit and a probability to penetrate. I would consider that H39 to be extremely lucky for not being destroyed.

I consider this mod one of the best and is very challenging for both sides. For German, you have to cross the river and race against the clock. For French, you have to manage your BG of various qualities and defend against the best Panzer BGs Germany can offer.

This mod should have its own thread in the forum.
