Hi everybody!

I'm a little stumped here. I'm attempting to follow this tutorial, but the hex values I am seeing are totally different than the ones in the example. When I change the values that are present to "EB" and change the registry to ".", I get a registry error when I try to run the game. Any thoughts?

Have you applied the v4.02 final patch?, try this executable out if you wish. The changes have already been applied.

Why not just use the CC No-CD download.

Scroll down to Run CC without the CD Link

The link doesn't work http://www.orvuus.com/schrecken/cc3_nocd.zip
Gives "Error 400 - Bad Request"

Hey y'all. It's good to see that others are still playing this game and love it as much as I have for...well, years beyond the ken of my alcoholic brain.

I was searching for a way to play CC4 with no cd--I wanted to play against a friend who didn't have a copy of the game. I tried everything--the no cd crack--never worked for me. I tried using the Hex Editor fix, but my neanderthalic brain could not manage it. I have found a way to play without using the cc4 cd--but you need a cd for some other permutation of the game--cc1, 2, 3, etc.

It's actually pretty simple. You go into your cc4 main folder, open the DATA folder, and create an empty VIDEOS folder.

You have to have the cc4 disk for the next step, sorry.

You run the game and open Options. Uncheck Enable Videos under the General Tab.

That's it. Now the game should run with any Close Combat CD in the drive.
Hope this helps somebody.

Regards, Nodlew.
