All a PLN file is is a renamed ZIP file. You can configure any zip'ing software to open PLN as well.

Right Mooxe,

and more...

To made plugins, you files needed for any Plugins + :

The install.txt , uninstall.txt and the readme.txt files from the Mod creator in the plugins, then when you 've got all files in one ziped folder, rename your folder by switching the .zip by .pln

Plugin is finished

thx Mooxe and Zap,

But...still a problem,
I changed the files I wanted and then zipped it up as a zip file. Renamed it as a pln file, called "gjsv43a.pln" . Then I put the pln file in config manager\plug ins. Then I ran config manager but it will not unzip it and place the files in the packagers folder. So I made a folder in packages called gjsv43a, unzipped all the files in gjs43a.pln with winrar and then copy and pasted them in the folder named gjs43a, in packages. Then I ran config manager and gjs43a was listed. I could then install gjs43a and uninstall it with config manager.
But why won't config manager unzip gjs43a and place the files in the packages folder?

thx, jb

config manager doesnt unzip the files.
when ur zip file has been renamed to pln it is essentially 1 file which config manager can read.
u do not need to make a folder for it in packages,it will auto put it there.
so delete the folder in packages and delete the plugin in config manager, then replace the plugin into the plugins folder of ur config manager.
the first time u go to plug it in it will take slightly longer as config manager is making a new folder and emptying out the files in packages

Unzip32.dll is the work horse for upacking the .pln's.

As your config manager is not unzipping the files, one thing to check is if there is a Unzip32.dll in the config manager folder. Or the one there may be corrupted.

If you have any other versions of config manager, you can copy it from there, as they all use the same one.

Tip - I ran low on disk space so I removed all the .pln files. It seems once they have been "unzipped" to \system\packages, they are no longer needed. It frees up quite a bit of space, especially SAS 3.5!

Notice I said "removed", not deleted! Of course you have the original burned to cd, right? Wink

when i put the pln file in configman plug ins folder, then run config manager, it will create a folder in packages folder, but the folder is empty. I have to run winrar and unpack the pln manually to the folder in packages. then configman will install it and uninstall it.

any ideas why?

thx jb

will be something simple mac.if u c me online just ask and ill try to go thru the steps with u.
also i assuming u have tried a new config manager in case ur old one has a file missing somewhere.
if u want to do this u can unzip the cfgv13 over the old version and let it overwrite, but before doing this change ur original plugins folder to pluginsB ,and after the new cfgv13 has unzipped delete the new plugins folder and rename pluginsB back to plugins.
if that doesnt work it could be a step ur doing wrong in the making of the new plugin.
