From what you've told me so far, you'll be changing the way the strategic map will look (like SDK: Operation Circle). Plus, correcting grammar & spelling mistakes in mission briefings, is their anything else?.
Will I need to start up a new grand campaign. Due to the data being modified?. Here are some examples; weapon damage, rate of fire, new units etc.. So... will my save game be compatible with v2.0?.
PzJager, did you install IZArc ( www.izarc.org ), to be able to extract those zip files?.

In SDK v2.0, there will be quite a lot of changes.
1) Graphics. The version will be compatible with the former one, you will be able to download v2.0 on your saved V1.2 campaign without problem
2) Sounds. Same thing
3) Weapons and armor values. SDK will be updated as SOC. Once again, the two versions will be compatible
3) The Force Pools. There will be a lot of changes. And here, unfortunately, if you begin a GC with the V1.2, you will not have the changes included in the V2.0 because in the saved file of your GC, the FPools (and BGroups) datas are inccluded.....
I really prefer the FPools/BGroups values of V2.0, with better historical reality, more specialised units etc....
Now, it is your own choice...
An other possibility for you could be to wait until let's say 1 month from now and be a beta tester of V2.0. If you are interested, please send me a PM

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
