I think this forum needs a topic.
- How do I start to create a map?
- Are there tutorials?
- How to draw ruins, silos, trenches and other elements?
- Using Gimp, Photoshop or Paint?
- Are there object databases?
- Object turorials available?
Actually, there's a guide here on CCS. Cick on "content" in the "main menu" in the site's left column. Or "getting started" at the top of the page. Select "modding" and you'll see a "map making guide" by SouthernLand which is quite detailed. :ok2

Hi,
Tutorials are available on CCS
Don't draw anything unless you are familiar with CC and/or you are already an artist!
Paint Shop Pro. OF COURSE
Download the map making guides...get familiar with how CC maps are constructed.
There's huge library of user made maps available...you can use these to cut-and-paste buildings, objects etc. You can also base your maps on existing ones of course.
CSO has a huge collection of textures/patterns for map painting.
You can also experiment with the Blitzkrieg Map Editor and Faces Of War Map Editor for more textures and ready made buildings and objects.
I use Photoshop...there's a PS plugin for PSP Tubes...but I haven't tried installing the plugin.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
