I still have my original CC3; is CoI a worthwhile upgrade?

CoI is basically a re-release of CC3 but with some added value and compatibility with modern PC's.

New maps
New , additional Grand campaign.
New , additional operations
Tweaked AI
Tweaked Data
Integrated MMCC3 (massive multilplayer CC3), so you can play h2h or v's the AI on a campaign map similar in style to CC4/5.

If your CC3 suffers from uncontrollable mouse movement, crashing when heading to a battle or you would like tha enhancements then it is worthwhile.

IMHO it is a better all 'round game than stock CC3.

You are a staff member of Matrix right, u have been into Simtec and now in S3 right?
So what was wrong with my statement.

However, now you call a consumer "AT-Stalky is a freeloading pirate". Is this how you as a consumer relation man for S3 and Matrix handle consumers? Sorry, stupid question as you just handled me in this way.

Name calling, Im Impressed! You’re a professional right out to your fingertips!

BTW, this is suppose to be a fan forum, one fan ask other fans if to buy a product or not, you product in this case. Why don’t you let the fans debate?
If they want your opinion as a corporate man, they will go to CSO forum or Matrix forum and ask you there.

Back to debateing the COI, buy or not buy, plz.

GunslingerV said he still has his CC3...and whether CoI worth getting (as an upgrade).
It's not worth it...and the price tag is not upgrade price Wink
'sides..."compatibility with modern PC's" that Shreckie mentioned only applies if you have a new low-end PC for Office Work. If you have a Gaming Rig...then the scrolling problems and glitches are still there...only slightly minimized Wink

Well, for me COI is a Mod for CC3.
U ll get the new multiplayer GC system. But no one still around to play it.
You v got some mod updated for COI, but all those mod exist for CC3.
you v got some problem solved, but in fact CC3 problem was fixed for long time.
In few words, if u v still got your CC3 CD, keep your money to buy CC6.
What will be different than a simple CC updated re-release i hope.

Tout est possible ... il faut juste connaitre quand.

For me just fixing the scrolling issue was worth the half a tank full of gas it costs.

Really? The scrolling is still very erratic on my system...and a lot of ugly screen tearing when scrolling too.

You may need to look at your setup... it shouldn't be happening.

My setup is fine...other games (modern ones) work fine.
CoI's is still the old CC3...the new exe works with Xp...but still have problems with fast gaming video cards. I'm using a GF8600GT 256DDR3 (mainstream 3D gaming card)...it was mid to high end when CoI came out.
It's still too fast for CoI Wink

The CC starter utility works better (and it's free!)...the scrolling is fast (you need to get used to using the arrow keys)...but at least there's no ugly screen tearing. Controllable scroll speed but replacing that with ugly screen tearing? That's just crude!

I have a P4 with a GF 7600 GS and it scrolls like my old PentiumII. I never could get use to the arrow keys..really do like it.

Are you a software pirate AT-Stalky? Schrecken may be with Matrix. That may predispose him to one view but software pirates tend to have their own prejudices as well. They usually revolve around something along the lines of "The system is evil, therefore it's ok for me to steal what others pay for."

Gary
No Im not

How about you Gary? Are you a Matrix software Police, Laughing

Lets try apply some logic to this:
The errors in data isn’t made grater or lesser just because someone would be a pirate or not, right?
BUT said that, I suppose a pirate whom have payed nothing for lets say Matrix/S3T product CCMT, would theoretically be less frustrated and disappointed and feel LESS RIPPED OFF then a person who payed “max dollar” for that Matrix/S3T CCMT product, right?

Na, Schrecky is just a Matrix / S3T "professional" consumer relation man and “researcher”, who go around CC fan forum and name calling ppl whom point out obvious major errors in his products; instead of invest that time to fixing them major humangus bugs in his products. .
That’s seem to be his work strategy up to now.

Fair enough.

No. Although I don't own it, I personally suspect CoI is not worth getting if you have CC III and CC III works on your OS. I don't plan on buying CoI. I have CC III (although I haven't tried it out on XP yet).

I don't think Civilization III Complete (put out by 2K games) is worth getting if you already own all the editions of Civ III. That doesn't mean 2K games is somehow evil for selling a reboxed edition of Civ III.

I don't understand all the hostility toward Matrix games. I'm not employed by Matrix but I like them. They put out a lot of games that I like and no other companies seem to want to touch those games. All the mainstream companies seem to be fixated on FPS and simplistic RTS games.
