Nintendo DS games do not cost $69
I dont see any games going for that price, not even the next generation consoles. Most I see is $59

WAR should sell for $25-$30 but they will probably charge more like $40-$50

25 bucks is logical for an old game not 50.

Heck I can get old console games from 4 years ago used for a Buck.

im hoping my eldest dosent ask for the latest crash game by Wii, its still close to 90 bucks! we wait 3 months or so, then snatch em up for about 30 bucks. WaR im taking a wild guess from CoI to be similar price, but i think more work went into this...more time and more features...buggered if i know.

Tack, ebay has games half prize. Crappy games for 20$ instead of 75$. It is even cheaper for you to order from a shop in Europe than buy it from australia.
Language issue is usually not a problem, cause there are multilingual.

Good thing I have daughters...just get them The Sims/The Sims 2 and they'll forget about other games Very Happy. One drawback, once you installed the Sims...the missus will prolly end up glued to the PC too...so never install this game on you main (work and CC...hehe) PC Wink

I won't pay more than $40 dollars for a game. "Matrix Games" haven't lowered their price for "Cross of Iron" since it came out. The same can be said for "Wacht am Rhein" (you can bet on it!).

To me, 20$ is an upper border for any game unless it's a collector's edition.

Paying over 20 quid for an old game where..

1.where the tanks try and push over houses on mass, instead of firing on them.

2. Get confused by bridges.

Is a bit beyond me.
Please please please, prove me wrong! Sad

Personally, I'm amazed that CC series in general managed to get away with stuff like that. I mean the AI with spinning tanks and attack problems makes them basically an unfinished product. If anyone would deliver their work in state in which the CC series AI is, they would probably be fired immediately.
I remember someone calling gamers junkies that would do anything to get their fix. I think that they weren't very wrong.

While the CC AI does have issues, it is that same AI that allows individual soldiers to react differently to different situations making CC one of the best games/simulations of squad level combat there is. There is a reason why the US Marines and the British Royal Air Force Regiment use it for training....

As for price, I remember playing the game after Atomic closed its doors and thought I would pay for the game to get fixed. The re-releases are fixing the bugs and with WAR it looks like they are adding some new things. Will there still be some issues, probably. Did they add what you wanted, maybe.

If you value the fixes and new features then you have to decide what that is worth. Then look at the price Matrix sets and decide what you want to do. If you think it is too much then do not buy the game....

Matrix is simply selling a product. The price is not based on quality, age or anything else. If you dont like the price, just pitch in a few dollars and buy the game with a few other people.

Are US Marines playing single-player?

Which is irrelevant. A faulty, unfinished product with a brilliant feature is still a faulty, unfinished product. In normal trade faulty products are either withdrawn or sold at lowered prices. Also, client needs to be informed about the faults, otherwise it's a deception. I haven't yet seen a CC box that informs the client about faulty AI and vehicle pathfinding.
Honestly, I find it disgusting that anyone defends such business practices. It's not like game developers are player's friends. No one would lower a price for a player if he didn't have enough money, just because he's a fan of the series, so why a player should buy an unfinished game just because developers don't want to/can't finish them?
It's not like games are necessary to survival. It's an entertainment. It's there's no excuse for an entertainment product to have such infuriating faults like a vehicle pathing in CC5 where a vehicle could rotate in opposite direction to the point of destination and do other awful things.
