An infantry battlegroup is mostly infantry. But it will have some tracked and or wheeled vehicles in support. This unit be designated as “movement type foot”.

An armoured battlegroup will mostly have tracked vehicles but it will have some infantry and wheeled vehicles. This unit be designated as “movement type tracked”.

A supply column will mostly have wheeled vehicles but it will have some infantry and some tracked vehicles in support. This unit be designated as “movement type wheeled”.

In the Battle of the Bulge the weather was bad and the terrain was difficult. As a result you had to capture a Road based Victory Location to allow you to move from one map to another. This is not the case in every battle in the history of warfare.

In CC6, continue with the idea that you capture a Victory Location and this allows you to move to the next maps. But some Victory Locations might be in a forest.

Therefore each Victory Location is designated as “foot’, “tracked” or “wheeled”.

A road VL would be designated as “foot” AND “tracked” AND “wheeled” because all can move through it.

Some rough terrain would be designated as “foot” AND “tracked” but not “wheeled”

Rougher terrain would be designated as “foot” only.

When the battelgroup captures the VL the BG can only move to the adjacent map, if the movement type of the BG matches the movement type of the VL.

Interesting proposal.

Would not work too well on the smallish 43 map strat layerof CC4, there just aren't enough options.

With a larger Strat area as in the upcoming Wacht am Rhein this idea might work with more room to maneuver your correct BG into position to take that "Rough Terrain"

Or to rephrase - at the strategic level you need to plan ahead to ensure the right BG is at the right place at the right time.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
