Given somebody is playing an Operation or a Campaign, road junctions are important. The enemy should have the ability to make an aerial attack on a road junction. The purpose of the attack is not to destroy ground targets as such. Instead the purpose is to place interdiction at the road junction. Interdiction stops supply passing along the road. As a result supply cannot reach the front line and the units are considered to be out of supply for a turn.

The enemy then would have some BGs designated as AA battlegroups. Where an AA BG occupies a map, the aerial interdiction fails.

If there is a breakthrough and you face an enemy AA BG, please note the AA BG will have very little infantry in support.

The movement type for an AA unit would be designated “wheeled”

Sounds like we're heading towards a lot of non-combat Battle Groups we would have to move around a strat map.

I like the general idea of interdiction though!

The interdiction and AA can be a little contest in its own right.

The opponent needs a way to counter that interdiction.

CC is at it's best as a tactical game but at the strategic level it needs to be a truley strategic game.

A half hearted strategic game is "more of the same".

Interdiction air strikes and AA BG's sound like good additions to the strategic game to me.....

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
