Why is it that no matter what games come out i ALWAYS end up coming back to any of the CC games?

Maybe its the great work everyone does with mods, but i think it is everything to do with the game being the only real strategy game in the market. The Total War series come close but placement and luck have nothing on CC.

I mean how many of you sit there like i do shouting, run, run, run or fire that dam thing like a mad man and gasping for breath when that pesky tiger final explodes after killy half your BG?

Command & Conquer **SPITS** is like a five year old playing with soldiers compared to CC, why has the concept behind the game play not caught on? I fail to see why those graphic junkies can't use their brains for five minutes.

Sorry for the rant but, i just felt that i needed to express my feelings...Oh and just to say a big well done to my boys for wasting that Tiger!

There's always Combat Mission, although I don't really like a ten man squad being represented on screen by two or three figures.

The micromanagement is also a bit of a chore.
Theatre of War is more user friendly...but IMHO the CC game system is still superior Smile

This is true, especially when orders are repeatedly ignored.

... and modding means changing the drivers lipstick!

Battlefront used to make scathing remarks whenever the possibility of modding anything other than the graphics was mooted. They were frightened that they'd be seen as responsible for the resulting "hamstertruppen".

... and yet they put a map editor into players hands which resulted in scenes that even the local planning department would have been ashamed of.

Meaow!

I agree, but the next version will allow infantry into buildings and they seem to have the bit between their teeth as far as development is concerned. It'll be interesting to see if they invade grognard territory with a stratmap in version # 3.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
