If you are still kicking around. I think the CCStarter would be a well suited application for Wacht Am Rhein to start mods.

You would need to modify it so that you can enter parameters after the exe. This is how WaR starts CC4 Classic..

"C:\Matrix Games\Close Combat Wacht am Rhein\CCE.exe" /D CC4Classic

Any chance we can get an updated version?

"D:\Matrix Games\Close Combat Wacht am Rhein\CCE.exe" /D Locked

This is the command line of the Desktop shortcut for the locked BG's download available here

http://closecombat.matrixgames.com/WaR/WaRmods.html

the /D switch is the key to telling the CCE.exe to look in sub-folders

Still around Smile
I had serious trouble with registering here and not being able to see anything after a login but now all is sorted.

What I need to know first is if original close combat has problems in vista. I'm somehow sure that there's no problem with directx 10 and the emulation of older directx versions and the original close combat series.

I tried the program with vista 64 bit and was suprised to see an error message. But I know that I 'enumerate' through some directx 9 regsitry settings which are not there I think.

During the launch of CC WaR I read that there's one problem which I can't fix. It's the problem of maps smaller then the selected CC resolution. Interesting Smile

So just tell me what is needed and I will see if I can fix it.

Hi Bernd

I don't think there is any thing wrong, crosses fingers, touches wood and puts faith in the programmers and testers.... but I think mooxe was thinking along the lines of using CCSTARTER as a launch pad for mods.

The functionality of your program can be kept for the launching of older versions off CC and just the launch capability used for WaR.

does that sound feasible?

All that needs to be changed is to make the command line editable easily.

Thanks to clarify schrecken and mooxe !

Sadly the source code is lost but it's not much work to do a new one. So all you need is the ability to add some parameters calling the exe.
Give me some days and it will be ready.

And there's one reason why I love such programs. It's easy to create shortcuts but it's easier to have only a couple of them, at least IMO Smile

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
