Oh my head! today I have remembered that I made 16 new maps for one new Close Combat StarWars mod based on the Empire at War maps. I made them one or two years ago with Blitzkrieg 2 map editor, yes you are reading well, I used one 3D map editor for to make new 2D maps, I put long time ago a thread about how you can use it on CC but it has fun because on this moment I do not remembered how I made it. But with these maps if I learn on a future how to make one WAR Strategic map, I will can to make one new mod.
The maps are from these planets.
Alzoc III - two maps.
Carida - two maps.
Eriadu - two maps.
Frexia - one map.
Hoth - one map.
Ilum - one map.
Kassyyk - two maps.
Kessel - two maps.
Polus - one map.
Thyferra - two maps.
All them have many new buildings and stuff from SW. Many from EAW.
These are some shots from them, they are shots from bgm without trees but many of them have different trees.
AlzocIII map 1.
Carida map 2.
Eriadu map 2.
Frexia.
Hoth.
Kasyyyk, map 1, I added some graphics from very big trees.
Kessel map 2.
Polus.
Thyferra map 1.
I do not know when I will make this new mod or if I will make it but I´m sure that I have stuff for this. Of course first I would like to make other mod conversion for WAR as a CC5 A Bridge too Far by example. The new IA have been like a jug of cold water for my on Close Combat.

Remember, I followed in your footsteps Lucas!
Here are some notes I kept from that era:
1 Blitzkrieg II map tile ≈ 4 x 4 Close Combat map tile, so a maximum size 32 x 32 tile Close Combat V map ≈ 8 x 8 Blitzkrieg II tiles.
Put a fountain or pillar in the north west corner to establish orientation straight off the bat.
(I never did figure out the correct width for a road in the Blitzkrieg II editor. Neither did I solve the problem or "fisheye", i.e. being able to see the faces of buildings, which is obviously worse on bigger maps and the further away from the centre you are on any given map. The B II community still hasn't figured out how to mod buildings. I think their own developers are keeping it a secret from them!)
It wasn't necessary to position the camera before leaving the editor but I think it did help when you went to the game itself.
I had to use a different keyboard command from what was written in the instructions: Ctrl+Shift+Print Screen. This had something to do with the different keyboard nationalities. Anyway, after you had pressed these keys the lights dimmed and very strange things happened on screen with the picture flashing all over the screen as if different bits of the map were being examined. After what seemed like an age a "Screenshot" had appeared. Can't remember whether this was a file or a folder but a truly huge .tga file was involved. It could then be fed into one of Mafi's map making tools and slotted into Close Combat.
Sorry this is all a bit hazy.

I don't think the B II method would be very good for making strat maps.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
