Hi Matthew,

A mod is a "modification" of a (perhaps) finalised game.
A patch is something to update an existing game version into a newer one.
Usually a patch is released by a game manufacturer (in CC2-case: Microsoft/Atomic), and a mod is released by unauthorized fans.

But in the old days (1998) of CC2-modding, some modding gurus named their modification "patches" (like "wfa" with his "US vehicle patch").

For a true list of old time descriptions of CC2 mods go here:

http://home.wanadoo.nl/cclinks/cc2.html

For more about CC2 today look here:

http://closecombat2.fortunecity.com/

For a list of all CC2-custom maps ever released, look at my "CC2MapMuseum.zip" from
http://closecombat2.fortunecity.com/GuideList.html
actualized this August 2009.

For retreiving old archives of still existing CC2 stuff try a "way-back machine":

http://www.archive.org/web/web.php

searching phrase:
"cc2.gamestats.com" or "http://www.clubssi.com/"

A short list of some early and essential old "mods and patches" can be found on this page:

http://home.claranet.de/manfredfischer/CC2SONSOUTH/CC2minimodtext.html

The original patches by Microsoft/atomic might be available on their server or here at CCS.net.

Infos about the TournamentHouse patches can be found at CCS.net or my site or at TH itself:

http://www.tournamenthouse.com/CC2/

Good luck

Mafi

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
