BTW, Luftwaffe Field Division abbreviation was either LwFD or FD(L)...I'm not sure which one is the authentic/historical abbrev.
So the prefix is either one of the above.
I'll see if I can churn out the data and graphics for I/Luftwaffe-Jägerregiment 46.
To do list:
- Gathering LwFD unit photos (if not enough are available, we can always use some FJ photos as compromise...not really that distinguishable in the tiny BG icons anyway).
- Uniforms for soldier colors should be the same as FJ (in mods, not stock CC5), but as variations maybe have the LwFD troops wear gray helmets without camo.  Also for added variations maybe officers, NCO and SMG soldiers wearing Feldgrau BDU without LwFD splinter pattern camo smocks/jackets.
- Don't forget to remind me to edit the rank gadgets...same as FJ but with green collar tab insignia instead of yellow.

Oh silly me. I will PM you later today.

However, the collar tab of the LWFD is either green or red. In the begining they all wore red collar tabs like the FlaK Kanonier troops. Green collar tabs was introduced in late war when most of these units were re-organised to jäger divisions. Going to check that one up though.

As for the FD (L), it is a Post-WW2 prefix, not to be used here.

Adding the Campagin date wouldn't be a bad ide either. Wink

I'm not sure there were any Churchill gun tanks used for Goodwood, the only ones I know of were from 79th Div. the 5th Assualt regt. using AVRE, and the 141RTR which operated Crocs, both were under 1 Corps and I'm sure the Crocs were used by 3rd Division in thier attack on the Troan area.

The other independent Armoured Brigades 27th, 33rd and 2nd Canadian, were Sherman equipped and supported the Infantry divisions on the flanks of the main attack.

You may like to look into the possiblity that the Coldstream Guards used 4.5" rockets on some of their Shermans in this operation. This is not a cast iron fact, but if you are looking for some out of the ordinary vehicles it maybe worth following up.

Cheers

Thanks for clearing up the Churchill tanks issue.

Those rockets sounds like a fun ide, but can they be integrated into the CC engine?
To what purpose was these rockets ment for? Anti Inf, fortefications, tanks?

From what I can gather these were 2 'typhoon aircraft' rockets (60lb)mounted each side of the turret so that they could fire at 400 and 800m range, (one set at each range). While quite devastating against a building or group of infantry I shouldn't imagine they would be much use against an enemy AFV, unless it was the crews unlucky day Rolling Eyes .

If they would be able to be represented I have no idea, best to get somebody with knowledge of the engine to answer that.

They were fitted to the standard Sherman V type tank, and know as the 'Tulip' unofficially.

Some scources claim they were used during Goodwood, while others date them later during the Rhine crossing battles.

They were never adopted by any other formation, so I would consider this a field modification used by this one unit.

But they do sound quite fun Smile

Cheers
