All-

I created another sound mod for GJS version 4.4 (44). It's called GJS44 Deathsounds.

You can find the plugin here:

Close Combat Series Downloads - GJS44 Deathsounds

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Changes from my original GJS mod and new features

* Deploy music is the theme from the 1968 war movie "Where Eagles Dare"
* 290mm spigot mortar sound pumped WAY up when it fires
* Excessive airplane noises removed
* A few new ambient battlefield sounds added
* Airstrike sound changed-new sound and cleaner
* New death noises
* Silenced some voice files like the redundant "move completed" that used to be heard every 5 seconds in a game
* New German voices (GGerVox.sfx) file
* Cleaned up and balanced volume levels in the other voice files
* Added about 25 new weapon sounds

I use only the actual weapon sounds for my mods. In case you were wondering, here's where I sample from:

MP40: MP40
Sten: Sten
MG34: MG34

Enjoy and happy hunting-  Twisted Evil

Hello, RD_DD,

Sounds great!

Will your new sound mod work okay with the latest TRSM v0.98 ?  I know that the sound.sfx file from Dima & Stalky hasn't changed since the last TRSM update.

Thanks, in advance, for your reply.   Cool

Tripwire-

The Deathsounds sound mod only works with GJS 44.

I did submit a sound mod GJS44 TRSM version 0981. You can download the plugin for it here:

Looking forward to try it. Sound is very importan in CC I think.
Tell me. You seem to know alot on how to make sound.
Would it be possible to make the soldiers voices change according to morale?
for example when german morale is low their voices change to a state of panic while meanwhile allies voices are full of confidence, and vice versa ofcourse
just imagine  :P

After all. One sound is activated with the state of morale. It´s just very short "our morale is getting low"
just a thought anyways.

Wastemoreland-

Thanks for the comments-

As for sound activation with different states of morale- I don't have the knowledge to change the basic operating files in the game to make that happen. I'm still waiting for someone, after all these CC years, to write something into the programming that will activate a sound when TANKS MOVE! They are as quiet as rocks in dirt.

When someone comes up with these changes, I'll get to work on the sounds.

The sound of moving tanks would be really nice.

I must admit that I'm a bloody 'C3' -not fitted for active duty, and hence I've never been around a moving AFV. But judging from the tracked construction vehicles I'm working alongside sometimes, there should be a distinct grinding sound of metal against metal, and that's civilian vehicles with central-lubrication of their tracks and wheels... (Damn, there's been times that I've been forced to use my ear-protections just too stand beside some of the beasts...  Rolling Eyes )

"When the tough gets going, I run to live to run another day..."

"Is this trip really necessary?"

7A_Woulf-

I'm still waiting for the day when the CC programmers configure the game to enable sounds for vehicle and tank movements.

This would fill in one of the 'missing puzzle pieces' of CC games.

If I had an American infantry team hiding on one side of a hedgerow, and a Panther tank was prowling around on the other side out of sight...I'd like to know! The troops would surely hear its engine and tracks.  Confused
