Hi,
It's finished ... as far as I'm going with it anyway.
Here is the readme file:
D-Day at Brecourt – CC3
Project limitations: (Important, please read)
1) There is no “Zoom In” map. You can zoom out and back again, but using full “zoom in” will crash CC3.
2) It is best to be used with trees “on” option in game, since the map is made with a high resolution aerial photograph, and no under tree graphics were made.
This project simulates a single battle.
Installation
1) requires official patched version of Close Combat 3, and Config51.exe (to install plugin)
2) install plugin file “D-Day at Brecourt v1.pln” that is in the “Brecourt plugin file” folder. Use Configuration Manager 5.1 to install.
3) move Map files to “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Close Combat III\Maps”
4) move Battle file to “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Close Combat III\Games\Battles”
5) start CC3 and select “Single Player”, and then select “Custom Scenarios”, and lastly, select “D-Day Brecourt – U.S. Command”.
Also note: due to some limitations of CC3, Deployment zones and Victory locations are set specifically to enable historical placement of German soldiers and equipment. Therfore, when commanding U.S., don't deploy at center of field ("no deployment area" victory location).
And voice files have been silenced.
Since vehicle shadows were rotated to match the aerial photo ... it's best to select "restrict historical rarity" for creating scenarios. Vehicles available for use are: DD sherman, Panther, leFH 18/40 Howitzer.
Historical units selection for the first phase of the attack on the battery is portrayed in the enclosed Battle file.
Also, DD Sherman tanks are available for creating the next "clean-up" phase ... as well as 101st rifle infantry.
Added for fictional battles are: Panther, AT Scouts PnzFaust60, Panzerschreck.

Thank you to websites with information related to this project and the forums they provide.
I appreciate very much the help of many forum members and others who contributed to this, including all credits in Western Front 9.1,10.
I'll re-post links to a youtube video of this battle ... there is a CC3 simulation starting at two minutes of part 2.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
