Hi there ,

Where is it possible or is it possible to edit the cost points for various units when
spending requisition points in the purchase units window before a battle ?

you can't

The exe calculates the value based on equipment/team numbers/experience and morale

try it and see.

Give it an extra gun... but no ammo... that might push the price up too.

Yes, higher experience will increase value, higher/lower Morale will also effect Req Points costs, but to a lesser extent than experience.
Schreck is wrong about the gun, only the ammo effects RP Value. Increased power and quantitiy of ammo will increase RP value.
Turret rotation speads effect RPV.  Vehicle speeds do not effect RPV.

For an infantry team, the following will effecrt value:
number of men
command level
ranks of the soldiers
the weapons they carry
the amount of ammunition they carry
morale
experience
if they are coded scouts/recon they will be more expensive
if they are coded SS they will be 10% more expensive
if they are coded to enable winter uniforms

with weapons in the weapons file these will effect the RPV
chamber reload time
clip reload time
no. of rounds fired
for each ammo type these will effect the weapon RPV:
ranges: point blank, close range, med range, long range
base accuracies
kill ratings
blast ratings
blast radius

in the vehicles and soldiers files, the amounts of each type of ammo for each vehicle and soldier will affect the RPV of each unit using them.
Of course armor values for soldiers and vehicles greatly affects RPV too.

This is one of CC3's great strengths over CC5, that if you increase the strength of a unit in its firepower of protection, it increases its RPV cost, thus enabling a way to measure balance in the games. Some CC5 mods had infantry units that would have been 50-100RP because they were made unrealistically powerfull (not mentioning any names, but the dog knows  Wink )

cheers
AGS

Ok , thanks , got ya . Did a bit of messing about and found out some of those things . I agree with ya on the great advantage cc3/coi has over cc5 as you can make a more balanced game or operation and of course you can edit the REQ points values depending on how you suceed or fail on the battlefield . Wouldnt it be great if we could , marry all of these together in one cc game as the ( sides are fixed ) thing really bugs me in cc5 and if you get the balance wrong at the start of an operation , well your , finished even before you start and can make no changes to an operation in cc5 once started . I cant figure out for the life of me why a cc5 saved game cant be ( hacked ) and i wonder if anyone has had a real go at it as any time i have tried i have had the inevitable .... crash... Sad
