Hi all, I am new to the forum, but not new to the game.
I have currently been playing online Supremacy 1914 but have become disillusioned by Goldmark advantages too paying users and like many other times return to close combat to get my fix. I started playing in 1998 and have played the cd versions many times and still enjoy playing them.
I have decided to try the mods and look forward to playing against online players if they still exist...(I have no idea of the number of players that play here).
Maybe with time and experience I may be able to fulfill my dream of creating two more titles in this series that I would long to have played..... The Italian campaign, which I think would be great and a "what if" scenerio, Operation Sealion the German invasion of GB. Details of which the German units to be used in the operation are easily obtainable.
As well as wishing everyone who enjoys these games the best, I would like to thank everyone who takes the time to keep these games alive.
To end I would like to ask a simple question...Is it normal practice to modify 1 game and save it as such and then install it again to add a new modification? I dont mind having 3-4 versions of a game installed on my comp but is this possible? Or are you only able to modify 1 version of a game installed on your comp?

Welcome to the forum!
You can play online by using Gameranger.
Do a full install of the game. Then add mods to the configuration manager to play different games. You do not have to re-install the original (ex: CC5), just plug-in different mods to play different games (ex: GJS, Battle of Berlin, Der Kessel, etc).
Look in the download section of the forum, it has and shows you how to do everything to play.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
